The scar is a tissue that appears in the process of repairing a wound. Scars are largely made up of "repair" collagen. There are different scars, including:
- Atrophic (sunken) scars
- Hypertrophic scars
- Keloids
Although scars cannot be 100% eliminated, they can be reduced with different techniques.
Hypertrophic and keloid scars can be treated with an innovative technique that involves the application of specific enzymes, including collagenase. The collagenase "destroys" the collagen in the scar and the body begins to produce good quality new collagen.
Atrophic scars have a different management and deal with them with mesotherapy, microneedles, laser, etc.
